Day 151

Morning run after an evening run, gotta stop that. One mile of waddling in 11:30? My foot has some serious pain in it. I think I have worn out my shoes already this year. Might have to look into new ones. Can barely walk at work today. Oh well. Hey I passed 150 days. That is a lot, for me.

Oh and if I ever run a marathon, I think I will look like this....

Day 150

5/29/08. Ran 3.1 miles on the antelope ridge, stetson hills, peterson, barnes loop. 33:05 and I was hauling. This is a hilly course with the biggest, most ginormous hill at the end for about 8-9 minutes. That and the 30 mph wind (no exaggeration) didn't help much. How is it that when there is a strong wind like that you are always blocked from it, when it should be pushing you along. And when it is dead on knocking you into yesterday you are supposed to be going up a hill? Strange. This was fast for me.
At least I had one day this week that wasn't only one mile.

Day 149

OK ran in the morning after evening softball, and I am hurting. Softball inevitably causes injuries and there was nothing major, but the whole sprinting thing is still rather foreign. One mile, 12 minutes. Waddle on.

Day 148

So today was the first day of our Bronze level Men's softball league. We asked to be in the tinfoil league, but apparently bronze is the lowest. Thus to be excessively wacky I showed up early for the game and ran one mile through the park, in 11 minutes. It was a nice warm up. ;)

Week 21 Totals

Day 141-147

Total mileage: 20.2 miles
Total time: 224:49
Avg miles: 2.89
Avg time: 32:07

Total mileage: 240.73
Total time: 2721:54
Total avg miles: 1.64

Hey some new records for me! It would be cool to get the total avg over 2....that will be hard. Also will hit 250 miles this week!

Day 147

OK this day might have been harder than yesterday. Needed 1.8 miles to make twenty for the week. Very sore and such. Late at night, no time earlier...I did not want to do, but I did. 2.0 miles in 23:41. Even did a little extra, sicko.

Made my goal, 20 miles in a week. Now I'm going back to 7 miles a week, ha.
Waddling is good.

Day 146 aka 10 kilos

Today I ran 10 kilometers. 6.2 miles in 69:10. Who is that fool in Day 141 talking about six laps? I ran twelve laps today. My way kewl family cheered me on for each lap. We had talked about doing the boulder boulder but opted out to save money, thus I did my own race.

Srsly 6.2 miles. I know that isn't a long ways, but for me it is. I even ran it at a decent pace, for me. Started going downhill the last two laps. And it was on a hilly course. OK enough gloating. Thanks God for letting me finish.

I have to run tomorrow? Oh the pain....

Day 145

Not good. No time to run. Ran 1.9 miles in 19:57. Had to get home. I have started doing a running warm up (followed by stretching) to garner a little extra distance. Thus with this distance I have left myself 8 miles over the last two days in order to make my goal. Yippee.

Day 144

OK ran 3.3 miles in 35:17. Haulin' yeah right. OK so trying to catch up but at this point its going to take some serious miles to make 20.

Day 143

OK testing my memory. I believe time was short this day. Ran 2.0 miles in 22 minutes. This dropped my daily avg down a bit, since I am going for twenty miles this week....Gotta catch up.

Day 142

Well I didn't run as far as I thought I did, yesterday or today, so its kind of a bummer. Stupid gmaps. I don't like you anymore. Tonight it was roughly 1.6 in 19:47. That leaves me at 4.8 for the week, and 15.2 for the next five days to cover twenty. Shin still hurts like a bugger, but I don't really care. It is just the shin splint thing so I will ice and it will get better. Ran at 11:30pm, gotta get started a little earlier ;), however things are a little busy right now.

Day 141

I will try to recreate my sentiment at completing this run, two days afterwards as I am posting this. Ran six laps of the .53 mile loop. Say 3.2 miles in 35:17. Take that suckas! You like that? You want more? I ain't listening to you no more! You gonna take that and you gonna eat it and you gonna like it and ask for more, because I said so.

The moon kept me company. It was like 80 degrees outside at 10pm. Very nice running weather. Shin hurts bad. Oh well. As the Raven says, "everyone has pain."

Mini-miles

So I was looking at the USRSA web site (link is in the links section.) Now I feel disgusted. They have a section for most miles in one year while "streaking." The most is Steve Morrow who ran 6570 miles in one year. That is an average of 18 miles PER DAY!!!!!! That disgusts me. Freakshow ftw.

It is kinda cool though....

Week 20 totals

Days 134-140
Total mileage: 14 miles
Total time: 153:10
Avg mileage: 2 miles/day
Avg time: 21:52 minutes / day

So really not a bad week, though it could have been better. Trying to keep the average over 2/day, though next week we are shooting for 20 miles total!
Get out' the way.

20 weeks, another round number celebration is due!
Could we be closing in on half way? The year half way over? yikes.

Day 140

1.5 miles at the gym in 15 minutes. Got some shin pain again, back to the icing regimen. Didn't really have time for much longer than that. Stuff goin on you know what I mean? Too much stuff. /eject.

Monday, May 19, 2008

Day 139

Late night run. There was a full moon. Busy day didn't get to it until 10 pm. I really didn't want to, but my wifey helped kick my rump out the door. Really slow, 1.1 in 13:30 or so. It was technically running, but probably didn't look much like it.

Day 138

After softball practice, and coaching my son's last soccer game, I went for a run! Yeah. I hurt. One mile 12:30. Waddling big time.

Day 137

Ran for one hour and one second. 5.33 miles. First 30 mins at 5.5, second thirty mins was 2/3 at 5.3 and the rest at 5.0. That was hard. I felt sore afterwards somewhat. I think I am getting sick. My kids have been sick for a week now. They must be sharing.

Day 136

I ran one mile? I believe. Late at night again. 12 mins or so.

Thursday, May 15, 2008

Day 135

Ran one mile in 9:10. Walked and lifted weights afterwards. Isn't this all terribly exciting?

How about a picture? This one is from the 5-k we did on St. Patrick's day. The 75 on my shirt is the number of days I had run in a row at that point. My wifey made the shirt, isn't she kewl?

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Day 134

Hawtsawss. Ran 3.1 miles on the treadmill in 31 minutes! I know most people wouldn't celebrate about running 10 minute miles (6mph,) but I will. First half was at 5.5, so 2nd half averages 6.5 mph. Kick it baby! Get out the way, penguin comin' through!

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

day 133

Back at the gym. Ran 3 miles in 31:30 which for me is fast. First 2/3 were at 5.5 mph pace and then really picked it up at the end. Top speed was 7.5 mph. ;)

Week 19 totals

Day 127-133
Total mileage: 17.4 ( a new record)
Total time: 193:00 (a new record)
Avg mileage: 2.49 miles
Avg time: 27:34 minutes

Hey I broke 200 miles! That is not really that far, but for me I think it is pretty cool.

Projecting 564 miles for the year but maybe we could push it up to 600....

Day 132

This is one of those run at 10:30 at night days, because I couldn't get it in anywhere else. Ran two laps on the route. Did pick it up the last 3/4 and finished in 11:00 for 1.1 miles.
Just glad to be done tonight.

Day 131

Ran one mile on a weird route. Started on the .55 mile loop then veered off, ran 12 minues. I assume about 1.05 miles. Painful, wind blowing, cold. I like stopping.

Day 130

Ran out on the "the company" Santa Fe trail route with a friend of mine.

What am I running with people for? Do I think I'm actually like a runner and not a poser? Went farther than I thought, thanks Gmap pedometers! :) Took about 33 minutes.

Day 129

Here is my route.
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1881007
Ran 4 miles in about 45 minutes. Uphill on the second half! Knees/legs a little sore because I've been upping things, but lungs were pretty good. No stopping!

Week 18 totals

Total Mileage: 12.64 miles
Total time: 140:30 minutes
Average mileage: 1.81 miles
Average time: 20:04 minutes.

Year to date:

Total mileage: 189.13
Total time: 2150:55 (just under 36 hours)
Total Average miles: 1.50
Total average time: 17:04

Year long projections
Mileage: 549.38
Time: 6247:54 (104:10)

Day 128

Ran outside, late at night. Ran three .55 mile laps in 19:30 (moving slow, taking it easy.) It seems like 128 days in a row is a lot. What else have I done 128 days in a row besides eat, sleep, and other biological functions? Hug and kiss my wife? Tell my kids I love them? Use the computer? Habits are interesting...

Day 127

Ran with a friend of mine on the Academy. Ran about 41 minutes. Gradual downhill on the way out, amazingly hard uphill on the way back. ;) I actually had to stop and walk about 30 minutes, very frustrating, but we did finish ok. Saw some deer at the end of the run. Ran around at soccer practice after that! Fun.

Update:

Based on this route I am estimating 3.6 miles.

Day 126

Ran 1.6 miles in 16:06 miles on the traditional loop. I'm so fast.

Monday, May 5, 2008

Day 125

Ran at the gym, 20 minutes 1.82 miles or so. Lifted weights. Did 10 minutes of walking at 15 degree incline which happens to be the same caloric burn as running. Strangeness.

Day 124

Ran outside, 1.4 miles or so. 15 minutes or so. So so so.

Day 123

Ahh the long weekend of no remembrance. I believe I ran at the gym? I'm going to say 20 minutes 1.82 miles.

Week 16 and 17 totals

Week 16

Total mileage: 15.3
Total time: 173:50
Avg mileage: 2.19
Avg time: 24:50

Week 17

Total mileage: 13.45
Total time: 152:04
Avg mileage: 1.92
Avg time: 21:43

15.3 miles!?!!? holy cow that is far...new record for me. 2.2 miles per day avg. I am hawtsawss, you know it.

Day 122

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that with the completion of this run I am exactly 1/3 of the way done. It also means that the year is 1/3 of the way over. Its going fast. My friend wasn't able to run, so I decided to run outside on the Santa Fe Trail which is near "the company". Did I mention it snowed for about half the day today? It was cold and windy. I ran for 46 minutes, I estimate about four miles. It was hard. It did feel nice being the only one doing such crazy things. I never really thought I would make it this far, but hey what you gonna do, its almost a habit. On the way out I actually caught myself thinking that running felt like walking. Of course my "running" is still more like waddling, but who cares.

Happy waddling.

Day 121

Got up early today. It is better running in the morning, because then you don't have to think/worry about when you are going to get the run in, it is all taken care of. However the moment of waking up at 5:30 or 6 (yeah I know, not that early, unless you go to bed at 1am) is rather painful....Jogged one mile very slowly. Taking it easy as I am planning to run 5-6 miles tomorrow at the Academy with a friend, yeah should be great...
